Project Objectives:

 

  1. To promote and conduct a food and supplies drive to take to Holly, Colorado.
  2. To provide disaster relief to the people of Holly by delivering food and sundry supplies to Holly Church of the Nazarene.
  3. To assist in roofing and other repair projects due to damage caused by the tornado.
  4. To reach out to and support the people of Holly by providing a community-wide Sunday dinner outreach event.
  5. To continue to keep the needs of the Holly community in front of the Metro Denver community by producing a videotape for news broadcast upon our return. 

Project Highlights:

  •       In conjunction with Denver First Church and Iglesia Familia del Nazareno de Denver (Denver Family Church of the Nazarene), delivered two trailers filled with food, water, clothing, toiletries, baby products, cleaning supplies and other items, provided by our three churches and our surrounding communities, to Holly Church of the Nazarene for distribution to the residents of Holly./files/Missions Photo Galleries/Holly '07/crew at alvins_Resized_233x175.jpg
  •       Assisted with sorting and distributing donated items.
  •       Worked on two roofing projects and one interior project of carpet and drywall removal.
  •       Evaluated tornado damage throughout the town of Holly.
  •       Provided a listening ear and compassionate counsel to those needing to tell their stories.
  •       Shared meals and fellowshipped with our brothers and sisters at the Holly Church.
  •       Prepared and served a community-wide banquet on Sunday afternoon to reach out to all of the residents of Holly.
  •       Sent additional meals home with those in need.
  •      Videotape of the Nazarene Disaster Relief work run by Channel 7 News on April 16 and 17, promoting continued concern and informing the Metro Denver communities of a second relief trip to Holly to be scheduled next month.

Project Objectives:

 

  1. To promote and conduct an up-to-date supplies drive to take to Holly, Colorado.
  2. To purchase and maintain equipment needed to repair damaged homes.
  3. To complete roofing and other repair projects begun during our first response effort April 11-15, 2007.
  4. To assist the town of Holly by completing designated town projects.
  5. To reach out to the children and citizens of Holly by providing a puppet show, children’s gifts giveaways and community-wide barbecue.

·         Delivered van load of new towels, linens, bedding, pillows and other household items to the designated state-operated donations management center for distribution to Holly residents.

·         Completed two roofing projects

·         Worked on siding removal and new installation, drywall removal and repair, fencing project and general debris cleanup.

·         Completed weed removal project at Holly town hall.

·         Stained outdoor deck and railings at Holly library.

·         Provided a listening ear and compassionate counsel to those needing to share their stories.

·         HIS (Hands In Service) ministry members presented a puppet show to a standing room only crowd at Holly Church of the Nazarene.

·         Prepared and served a community-wide barbecue following the puppet show to reach out to all of the residents of Holly.

·         Provided a free toy to every child and youth in attendance at the puppet show or barbecue.

     Sent additional meals and food home with those in need.
